Unleash that vast ocean of you and
pour yourself onto my waiting shore.
I welcome the crashing waves of you,
eager for your salt water onslaught
to irrigate the parched land of me.
Too long on shore, I have become dry,
no rushing water or gulls cry in my dreams
until you arrived, with your fathomless depths
and the tidal wave I see in your blue green eyes.
pour yourself onto my waiting shore.
I welcome the crashing waves of you,
eager for your salt water onslaught
to irrigate the parched land of me.

no rushing water or gulls cry in my dreams
until you arrived, with your fathomless depths
and the tidal wave I see in your blue green eyes.
Perhaps a follow on from this one written yesterday.

You really have done justice to the prompt and the picture. Lovely.
Superb and wonderful...I like the hidden metaphor...You followed the prompt precisely, more like you were explaining the picture...nice work.
Cheers!
A powerful poem. Enjoyed it.
Loved it. vEry creative use of the word and painting.
Like you, Susannah, I love water! Joyously written!
Susannah, I can feel your love of the ocean in the images you share in this well-expressed poem.
Wow! I love how you brought the image alive in such a personal manner. You made it breathe and move. Thank you,
Elizabeth
