if I die young . . .

If I die young

I want you to know
that however it happens
I was ready to go

It may not ring true
but I think you will find
that believing it so
will give peace of mind

So goodbye and good luck
may your life be fulfilling
and when your time is up
I hope you'll be willing

For life is a journey
an adventure, a game
we come into it alone
we go out the same

Our birth and our death
are two sides of one line
just the way it should be
. . . part of the design

The moments are precious
so don't hang around
just relish the living
each sight and each sound

Then if you too die young
I know that you'll know
that however it happens
you were ready to go. . .

In spite of the sad tone of the prompt, you have, with your soft, smooth and hopeful words, painted a beautiful picture with this poem . It is wonderful!

A lovely whirl of words. Yes, there's two things we can be certain of, once we're born we're going to die.
It's how we fill that time in between those two dates that makes the difference, just as you have said here with this lovely piece.

Lovely poem! It was something like this that I wanted to write for this challenge, but just could not get anything to rhyme. So I gave up!

What a beautiful piece of writing.

Best wishes,
