Not The Only One - Magpie Tales 47

Inspired by this weeks Magpie Tales and the photo below.

We are all connected.
We can run from that realisation
or we can embrace it
and accept the knowledge
that we're not the only one
who's treading water out there
in that big black ocean.

Every single splash, every dive
creates ripples in the waves, and
when you feel yourself going under
sinking, flailing, gasping for breath,
there are hands you could reach for.

We are all connected at the core,
nothing exists in isolation.

We need to find the courage
to hold out our arms and
scream for help.

If we all pulled together
we could save so many
from drowning.

it's good to know i'm not alone.

"We are all connected at the core,
nothing exists in isolation."

a beautiful line,
it makes me think
the core is open, spacious
not as solid as we think
and that's a good thing
rocks, by nature, are isolated.

thank you for these words.

I like this interpretation very much. You have kept to the prompt and given it meaning. Many others have simply written a story that has no bearing on it.

I definitely could feel the connection..I liked the clarity very much, and the hope!

A lovely, positive take on the prompt, Susannah. I liked reading this. The metaphor of the ocean as life is very creative. I've never seen it put that way; very nice.

Your words are so very good, such a wonderful reminder that all we need to do is to ask for help. We are all connected. Brilliant.

Inspirational words so beautifully written.

Profound meanings within your vision of this piece, one, all, connected within isolation, connected within the all. Well done!

Beautiful. I wholeheartedly agree.

A recurring theme in several others and perfect for this enigmatic object.

It's good to be reminded we aren't by ourselves.

Well expressed sentiments. (And I see from the layout of your second stanza that you find, as I do, that Blogger is crap at arranging text around pictures.)
