Harmless - Inspired by Three Word Wednesday

Inspired by Three Word Wednesday this week's prompt words are harmless, moist, yelp

Harmless

You profess to be harmless
all meringue and scarlet lips
moist and ready to be kissed

and the soft yelp as I peeled the
sticking plaster from your wound
belied the fury that I'd glimpsed

It pays to be able to play a part
when laying on the cold, cold floor
the gun you toted, is still warm

.

this is a powerful piece, one with deeper meaning on successive reads.

'all meringue and scarlet lips'..brilliant line..and the piece was that in itself...a dark story painted with a light brush..which makes it even more seductive..Jae

Wow, very intense. So much in such a short of amount of space. Well done.

I, too, love "all meringue and scarlet lips." This almost reads as noir to me -- noir poetry? I think so! Well done.

This one just sprang out of the prompt words, strange what is triggered isn't it?

Good to see you all.

This piece makes me think of all the possibilities leading to "the gun you toted, is still warm"! Oh yes...this was enjoyed :-P

A story well told in such a few words. I read them three times and finally pieced it all together...like clues. It was fun.
